Many students in the life sciences are uncertain about the form their careers will take, post-graduation. Calgary’s life sciences industry is growing faster than ever, housing many local startups that have the potential to revolutionize patient care. Unlike academia, there is a lack of awareness among the student body on opportunities in the biotechnology industry. The UCalgary InnoSci Student Association seeks to make entry into the life science innovation industry more accessible. We also seek to introduce undergraduate students to unique career paths in the life sciences. This means: 

 

1. Creating mentorship opportunities for undergraduate students (in life sciences, or other disciplines) seeking to enter the biotechnology industry

2. Creating event nights and networking events to introduce students to local companies and unique career paths

3. Creating opportunities to gain job experience through unpaid internships
